Jabberwocky Nigerian Dwarf Goats
Nigerian Dwarf Goats
We love our Nigerian Dwarf goats. As pets, breeding stock, show stock, or playmates – they are special!
All of our breeding stock was tested disease-free in November 2019, and all of our goats are registered through the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA). We started with good stock from an excellent local breeder, and then drove on a weekend from Texas to Georgia to purchase our herd sire, Dayo, when he was only a few days old. Seriously, we drove to Georgia from the Houston area on a Saturday, spent the night, and returned on Sunday. We thought he was worth it!
Nigerian Dwarf Goats are sweet and gentle, and we love to watch them play. We only have a small herd, but we think they’re special. Our sons love to spend time with them, and our youngest son has developed quite a friendship with our buck, Dayo.
According to the books we’ve read, the milk of Nigerian Dwarf goats is some of the best in the goat world, being very high in butterfat and protein. They are also good milk producers for their compact size.
We like to breed our Nigerian Dwarf goats in September through December, resulting in a spring kidding season. We usually let our dams raise their young because they are such good and loving mothers, but we will sell bottle-babies to qualified buyers. We do typically offer our goats for sale with some exceptions. We have retained some of Dayo’s doelings (our herd sire), and are looking forward to breeding them this autumn.
We’re always happy to talk about our goats. Please call Karen at (713) 584-9756 for information. Emails are welcome too - kginnard56@gmail.com.
Planning is underway for our Spring 2021 season!
